AI content writing is transforming the creative world, but it also raises questions for freelance writers.
At the beginning of 2026, I went through a period of doubt — the kind many freelancers and entrepreneurs experience at some point in their journey.
Over the course of a few months, I watched many of my indie author clients turn to AI translation. For some, it was a financial decision. For others, a faster alternative.
And while I understand why AI has become so present in creative industries, especially in publishing and translation, I won’t pretend it didn’t shake me.
When you work for yourself, every lost client feels personal.
You start questioning your skills, your future, and your place in the market. You look for ways to protect your business and regain a sense of security.
Without even realizing it, I fell back into an old habit: returning to what felt familiar.
Going Back to What Felt Safe
Before becoming a freelance translator and proofreader, I worked for twenty years as an administrative assistant.
Organization, coordination, document management, and administrative support were skills I had mastered over decades.
So, driven by uncertainty and fear, I decided to add a new service to my business: virtual assistance.
At first, it seemed like the sensible thing to do.
After all, I had the experience, the knowledge, and the professional background.
But deep down, something felt off.
Because there’s a huge difference between being capable of doing something… and feeling fulfilled while doing it.
Words Have Always Been at the Center of My Life
As far back as I can remember, words have always mattered deeply to me.
I love reading.
I love writing.
I love refining a sentence until it flows perfectly.
I love translating a text while preserving its tone, emotion, and intention.
Translation and proofreading didn’t simply become my profession six and a half years ago — they became the work that genuinely fulfills me.
I love helping authors polish their manuscripts.
I love turning rough ideas into clear, engaging content.
I love shaping language so it truly connects with readers.
And most of all, I love the unique connection words can create between people.
Looking back, I realized something important: fear had slowly pushed me away from the work that truly suits me.
AI Is Changing Creative Work — But Not the Need for Authenticity
Today, artificial intelligence is transforming many creative professions, especially writing and translation.
Some tasks are now faster.
Some content can be generated in seconds.
But one thing hasn’t changed: readers can still feel the difference between content created automatically and content written with care, nuance, and intention.
AI can:
- generate sentences;
- structure information;
- rewrite and summarize content.
But AI cannot genuinely understand:
- emotion;
- subtext;
- rhythm;
- human sensitivity.
And it certainly cannot replace authenticity.
That human dimension is exactly what I want to continue bringing into my work.
Instead of Going Backward, I Chose to Move Forward
For a while, I thought the solution was to return to a more “secure” professional path.
Then I realized something essential: what I truly needed wasn’t security — it was alignment.
So today, I’ve decided to fully embrace what I do best: working with words.

- strengthen your brand voice;
- create meaningful connections.
Ghostwriting: Writing in Your Voice
Ghostwriting is one of the services I enjoy the most.
Many professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives have valuable ideas and expertise to share, but not always the time, structure, or ease to turn those ideas into compelling written content.
That’s where I come in.
My role isn’t to erase your voice — it’s to help shape it into clear, natural, engaging content that genuinely reflects who you are.
Whether it’s:
- blog articles;
- newsletters;
- website copy;
- professional content;
every project deserves writing that feels authentic and personal.
Human Content Still Matters More Than Ever
We live in a world flooded with content.
Every day, thousands of articles, posts, and pages are generated automatically.
Ironically, the more automated content we see, the more valuable authentic human writing becomes.
People are no longer looking only for information.
They’re looking for:
- connection;
- personality;
- sincerity.
That’s the difference human writing brings.
And that’s what transforms a text from simply “good enough” into something memorable.
In the End, Fear Helped Me Realign
Looking back now, I realize this difficult period forced me to ask myself the right questions:
- What truly motivates me?
- What kind of work makes me feel fulfilled?
- What do I genuinely want to build moving forward?
And the answer was always there: writing, translation, and working with language.
So today, I’m choosing to fully embrace that direction.
Not because it’s the safest path.
But because it’s the one that feels the most true to who I am.
